Chef Roopali Lokhande of PuranPoli will be our guest chef this Sunday. She will be demonstrating how to make Corn Fritters. It should be fun and exciting.
About Roopali:
I run a small business from my home kitchen called “Puranpoli,” named after a traditional Indian sweetbread. This sweet symbolizes love and care because it’s a labor-intensive dish made for special occasions.
As for my background, I’m a mother of two young kids, aged 7 and 4. I moved to the U.S. on a dependent visa with my loving husband. After years of not having a work visa, I finally got one just before the pandemic hit. I chose to start this small business to spend more time with my kids while doing something I love.
Business Introduction: PuranPoli is a heartfelt venture by a devoted mom of two, operating from a home kitchen licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Our specialty, PuranPoli, is a beloved traditional sweet dish originating from the western region of Maharashtra, cherished across India for its delightful taste. In addition to PuranPoli, we offer a range of meticulously crafted products, including homemade spice blends and packaged snacks, all prepared with care and attention to quality. We take pride in sourcing our raw materials from local vendors, ensuring freshness and supporting our community. We're delighted to offer this authentic delicacy, a taste of home that's often hard to come by elsewhere.
