About:
Unofficially, as a husband and wife team, we started cooking together the day we met in culinary school in 2005. Officially we started Comida KIN in 2019 with vending at Pride and the Seattle to Portland finish line. We decided to start our own food truck because we wanted the freedom to cook our own food and a food truck was the business model we felt would best serve our needs. We love to feed our community healthy and delicious food.
Why Comida Kin Loves Farmers Markets:
Mary grew up in Hillsboro, just a mile from downtown. Her memories are filled with early Saturday walks to the market for strawberries and honey sticks! We love farmers markets because it is a reflection of the community we live in. It’s a time to socialize and be grateful for all the bounty of the season and of the pacific northwest.
Favorite Market Recipe:
We love to make market veggie tacos.
Using whatever fresh veggies you bought at the market. Saute them in a bit of oil and season with cumin and coriander. add some fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onion and put them in a tortilla top it off with the hot sauce your heart desires
