Hillsboro Farmers' Markets is proud to present a special cultural celebration featuring three distinguished Pacific Northwest organizations on Saturday, August 2nd. This unique event will showcase the rich traditions of Japanese and Asian American arts through music, dance, and cultural education.

Featured Performers:

Oregon Koto-Kai will enchant audiences with the ethereal sounds of the Japanese koto, a traditional 13-stringed instrument. Founded in 2012 by Mitsuki Dazai, this 20-member ensemble has become a featured artist at festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. The group recently released their debut album "Kin" and continues to share Japanese culture through their passionate performances that blend tradition with innovation.

Takohachi will present traditional Japanese music and cultural arts, adding another layer of authentic cultural expression to this special celebration.

White Lotus Foundation brings their renowned dragon and lion dance performances to the market. As Oregon's largest lion dance group, this passion-driven organization is committed to supporting and empowering the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. Their vibrant performances celebrate cultural heritage while building community connections.
